ABOUT ME

A Brief Bio:
Giulio Muratori was born in Fano, Le Marche, Italy and his formative years were spent in nearby Bellocchi. As a teenager who grew up in northern Ontario, the lure of excitement and opportunities in the big city intrigued him, so he moved to Toronto, where he worked as a self-taught photographer.
Health and fitness have always played an important role in his life and he enjoys working out and biking through the streets of Toronto. “Biking provides me with an opportunity to continuously discover the city in an authentic way. I see unique glimpses of people and places, so I’m constantly gaining interesting insights and
perspectives.”

An Idea Takes Root:
Muratori’s passion for food was ignited by the lovely woman in this photograph; his mother, Gina.. Although she’s no longer with us, her beautiful spirit endures. In 2015, Muratori was motivated to find a healthier alternative to commercially produced white pasta, since he hadn’t eaten it for several years and was seeking something even far more digestible than wheat. Because grains are an abundant source of energy, forming an integral part of a healthy diet, he was particularly interested in exploring ancient grains. He started with Spelt and Khorasan (Kamut) and later added Emmer and his personal favourite, Einkorn. Seeking to keep the tradition of food, family and fun alive, one day, his sister Lina brought over her pasta machine and they began to experiment with a new and exciting prospect. In 2017, Giulio’s Artisanal Pasta was established. Wholesome, nutritious and delicious, the four pastas he offers are available in a variety of shapes and are made in small batches from locally sourced organic ancient grains. Naturally dried to preserve nutrients and flavours, they’re also vegan and can be suitable for people with gluten sensitivity. Muratori takes a great deal of pride in the entire process and continuously seeks to inspire people. “It’s amazing to share my passion for healthy eating and living with people.” |
